Crash victim wakes up, drives away
Police were this morning searching for a man who crashed his car into an Auckland roundabout, rendering himself unconscious, then drove away.
Inspector Lou Alofa said the man was driving along St George St Papatoetoe at 6.35am when he hit a roundabout.
"He became unconscious, then came around and got into his car and back onto the road and drove away," he said.
"He later stopped outside the Holy Cross School before he drove away again and towards Great South Rd."
The roundabout and the man's car suffered minimal damage.
Police want to speak to the man about the accident.
