Two people have been killed in two separate crashes on Waikato roads which were just hours apart.
Inspector Lou Alofa said the driver of a car died after the vehicle collided with a truck on State Highway 1 north of Ngaruawahia about 11.25pm last night.
The truck driver was taken to Waikato Hospital with moderate injuries after the truck rolled, Mr Alofa said.
A person died at the scene of the second crash, which happened about 8pm, on Peacockes Rd in Hamilton, police said.
Another person was taken to hospital.
Police were investigating the cause of both crashes.
