A Christchurch woman is $1m richer after winning a special draw celebrating the 25th anniversary of Lotto.
A New Zealand Lotteries spokeswoman said a Christchurch woman, who wanted to be known only as 'Jo', had claimed one of the two one million dollar winning vouchers that were purchased in Canterbury.
The two winning tickets were purchased at Hornby Mall Lotto and Northwood New World.
A third million-dollar prize was awarded to a voucher collected in Auckland.
Another Christchurch voucher from Paper Plus Bush Inn won a prize of $100,000.
NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive Wayne Pickup said the vouchers were offered to celebrate Lotto's 25th birthday milestone.
"We wanted to do something very special for our big birthday involving all of our players, so every Lotto ticket bought over the last two weeks went in the draw to win one of over 1,000 extra prizes worth $7.5 million. Plus we gave away 25 instant prizes of $25,000 over the last fortnight," he said.
Last night's Winning Wheel ticket was bought at Westport New World in Westport.
A Strike Four ticket bought from Pak N Save Riccarton was one of three that won $73,114.
Full results are available on the 25th birthday promotion results page.
