South Auckland police are looking for an offender who broke into a Manurewa house and pushed over a bassinet.

The incident happened on Sunday around 5am.

A woman woke up to find the man inside her house trying to steal her things. He pushed past a bassinet when he was caught out and knocked the newborn baby inside to the floor.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying this person.

The offender stole two cars, credit cards and other items.

Police want help to identify the offender and have released photographs of a person they think may be able to help them with their search.
