Drone captures Napier's New Year's Eve fireworks display
A Hawke's Bay photographer has captured Napier's New Year's Eve fireworks display in a different kind of video.
Tim Whittaker shot the drone footage during Thursday night's display on Napier's Marine Parade.
Whittaker said he didn't often attend the New Year's Eve festivities but he was keen to have a go at filming the display using his drone.
The photographer was the only person in the region with a special certification that meant he could fly his drone at night, he said.

Whittaker was given clearance to fly the aerial camera to a height of 400 feet (122m) so he could capture the fireworks spectacular.
While the video gives audiences a great view of the New Year's action, Whittaker said he missed most of the display because he was concentrating on flying the drone.
Luckily, he can now watch the fireworks as many times as he likes.
