Pair sought following Christchurch Casino assault hand themselves in
Two people sought by police after a New Year's Day assault on a mother and daughter have handed themselves in.
Canterbury police released the images of a man and a woman on Thursday, after the assault on Christchurch woman Georgia Fergusson near Christchurch Casino about 1am on January 1.
Fergusson said she was the victim of an unprovoked attack after spending New Year's Eve at the Casino's Mashina Lounge with her boyfriend, Reese Durante.
The 22-year-old was left with a badly bruised head and face, cuts and bruises to the backs of her arms, and a shard of glass in her leg.
Her mother, 47-year-old Michelle Coker, suffered severe bruising after being struck in the face.
On Thursday, Detective Constable Damian Dellabarca said the man and woman in the photos were "people we want to identify in relation to the incident".
The pair handed themselves in to police on Friday and had been formally interviewed. No charges had been laid.
Police needed to "make more enquiries around the CCTV footage, and speak to more witnesses", Dellabarca said.
"We want to get a full picture before any decisions are made."
