Police are scaling down their search for missing Northland woman Natasha Veltman.
Land-based searchers today continued looking for Veltman, 40, who has been missing since yesterday morning.
Police said they had serious concerns for the safety of Veltman, of Tutukaka, near Whangarei, after she failed to keep an appointment.
She was last seen at her home at 8.45am yesterday.
About 160cm tall, European, of large build with straight blonde, shoulder length hair, she was wearing blue jeans, possibly a grey sweat shirt and black "skatey" type shoes.
"She does not have any personal items with her, just the clothes she is wearing," police said.
Police said this afternoon that they were scaling down their search, and it would continue only if further information on her whereabouts or any sightings came to light.
Any sightings should be reported to Whangarei police on (09) 4304500.
