Upper Hutt woman's death 'unexplained'
BREAKING NEWS REPORTER
Police are investigating the "unexplained" death of a woman in Upper Hutt.
The body of the 38-year-old was found in a bed at a home in Ebdentown yesterday, Hutt Valley area commander Inspector Mike Hill said.
The person's death was being treated as "unexplained", he said.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton said police were called to a house at 10.15pm after members of the woman's family found her body.
The woman's body had been removed from the scene and an autopsy would begin this afternoon.
Police in white boiler suits were conducting a scene examination at the two storey block of flats.
Brian Lowe, who lives in the block of flats, said the dead woman lived on her own. She was "pretty quiet", Lowe said.
Another person had died in the block of flats this week too. "It's a bit sad."
