A person was killed after crashing into a powerpole in Auckland early this morning.
A male driver had to be cut from the wreckage on Neilson St in Onehunga, Inspector Ian Brooker said.
Emergency services were notified of the crash at about 2.20am.
It's believed the deceased was the male driver.
The police serious crash unit is investigating, and more details will be released once they have finished their examination, Brooker said.
