One person is in hospital with critical injuries after a four-car smash north of Auckland this evening.
Emergency services were alerted about 5pm to the crash on State Highway 17 in Dairy Flat, about 30 kilometres from Auckland city.
The critically injured person was taken by ambulance to Auckland City Hospital and another person, who suffered moderate injuries, was taken to North Shore Hospital, a St John Ambulance spokeswoman said.
Police were investigating the cause of the crash.
