Missing woman Rae Portman was pregnant when she went missing, it was revealed today.
At a police press conference over the 33-year-old's disappearance, her mother Rebecca Norton made an emotional plea for information.
Norton said her daughter was four months pregnant when she reported her missing on July 2.
Portman, nicknamed "Bok", was unemployed at the time and was a known drug user.
She drove from Hamilton to Auckland on June 20 and checked into a Mt Albert motel.
She then moved around Auckland visiting friends and returned to the motel that evening, but failed to check out the next day and left personal belongings in the room.
The month before she was spotted in Waihi and Tauranga.
Last month police arrested a 30-year-old woman from Manurewa and charged her with assaulting Portman on June 8.
Police said the arrest wasn't directly related to Portman's disappearance..
Detectives have not been able to find Portman's mobile phone or bank cards and they have not been used since she went missing.
Her passport had not been used either.
The vehicle Portman drove to Auckland, a silver coloured VW Passat, has been recovered and examined.
