A Hastings family were forced to escape their house through a window after two dogs began fighting inside yesterday evening, police said today.
Sergeant Eden Sewell said both dogs, one a pit-bull, were family pets and began fighting shortly before 7.30pm.
A 20-year-old woman from the address was taken to Hastings Hospital and treated for minor injuries received from the pit-bull during the atack.
Police and animal control were called, and secured the pit-bull while the other dog was destroyed due to the extent of its injuries. The pit-bull is scheduled to be destroyed next week with the consent of the owner.
