A milk tanker driver is in a serious condition in Waikato Hospital after a crash near Cambridge.
The driver was trapped in the cab of his Open Country Cheese Company truck after it crashed into a power pole on Roto o rangi Road while travelling between Te Awamutu and Cambridge and live power lines ended up covering the upturned unit.
He was eventually rescued from the severely damaged cab and transported to hospital with extensive leg injuries and was expected to undergo surgery later today.
