Mall reopens following fire evacuation

A mall in Auckland was reopened this afternoon after being evacuated when a fire broke out in its power plant soon after 10.30am.
A Fire Service spokesman said the fire at the Lynnmall shopping centre in New Lynn activated an alarm and was contained by sprinklers and dry powder.
The were no reported injuries, but emergency services kept shoppers and pedestrians clea r of the mall until it was deemed safe to return.
