Naturists say the feeling of the sun, wind or water against your body gives the feeling of exhilaration that relieves tension and stress.

Photographs of a judge posing in the buff on a nudist club's website have been removed after media enquiries this week.

The Herald on Sunday reported the pictures showed full-frontal nudity of the judge and it was not clear how long they had been online.

According to the Herald, the images were used to promote the Pineglades Naturist Club in Christchurch without the judge's knowledge.

The judge reportedly posed playing petanque on a lawn.

The judge was unnamed, but "has been in the headlines before, attracting criticism for giving a high-profile New Zealander name suppression in a controversial case," the Herald said.

The Pineglades Naturist Club website boasts a range of activities from volleyball to swimming and pictures a people of all ages enjoying the grounds in its online gallery.

The nudist club says: "Freedom to have the forces of nature touching your body. The feeling of the sun, wind or water against your body gives the feeling of exhilaration that relieves tension and stress."
