A family of five escaped a fire in their Naenae home this morning.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire in Sinclair Grove at about 9.13am.
When five appliances and police arrived at the scene, three to seven minutes later, the entire house was in flames.
The parents and three young children escaped unharmed, and have received counselling from Victim Support.
The blaze is understood to have started in one of the front bedrooms, from where it spread to the rest of the house, causing extensive damage to the interior.
Fire Service investigators are working to establish the cause of the fire.
