A Napier-bought Lotto ticket struck it lucky tonight, winning the $2 million First Division prize pool.
The winning ticket was sold at Countdown Carlyle in Napier.
NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive Wayne Pickup said the win would undoubtedly be a welcome surprise.
"This prize could pay off the mortgage, buy a new home, or pay for that trip around the world they've been dreaming off," he said.
Powerball has jackpotted this week, and Powerball First Division will be worth $7 million next weekend. Strike has also jackpotted and will be worth $600,000.
