Police have grave fears for a mentally-impaired man who is believed to be on an 800 kilometre road trip across the North Island.
Donald Wheatley, 53, has the mental age of a 10-year-old and a serious medical condition.
Police say he was last seen in Franklin, South of Auckland, on Thursday.
Wheatley, who is bald and toothless, was wearing blue trackpants, a blue polar fleece and cowboy boots.
He is believed to be travelling on foot or by bus and heading to Porirua, Wellington.
Police fear for his safety as he did not take the medication he takes regularly for a health condition.
The last definite sighting of him was in Cambridge on September 27. Police say there was a possible sighting in Tokoroa yesterday.
Anyone who has seen Wheatley is asked to urgently contact the Police.
