A man has been freed after his left arm was trapped in a machine at a meat processing plant in the central North Island.
Waikato Hospital said the 20-year-old Te Kuiti man was being assessed at its emergency department.
Emergency services were called to the incident at Te Kuiti Meat Processors, south of Hamilton, at about 11.45am.
The injured man was taken by ambulance staff to Te Kuiti Hospital where he was picked up at about 12.30pm by the Westpac Waikato air ambulance and flown to Waikato Hospital.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment was making preliminary inquiries into the incident.
Te Kuiti Meat Processors' plant manager Chris Cardno said he was not able to comment on the incident for now.
