Body found off Whanganui coast
A woman's body has been found in the surf off the Whanganui coast.
The body was discovered by a member of the public about 11am this morning, Whanganui senior sergeant Dave Kirby said.
Police were at Castlecliff beach, but Kirby wasn't aware if the body had been retrieved.
A woman had been reported missing, but Kirby wouldn't confirm any more details.
"We still have to confirm who it is and notify the family concerned."
There were no indications that the woman's death was suspicious.
