A Martinborough man remains in a serious condition in intensive care after an altercation in Martinborough on Saturday night.
A 25-year-old male is in police custody and will be appearing in court Monday on an assault charge in relation to the incident.
Further charges are being considered.
A Wellington Hospital spokesman said this morning the man was still in a serious but stable condition in intensive care.
Senior Sergeant Brent Murray, from the Wairarapa CIB, said police were looking for information from anybody who was in the Broadway St area around midnight on Saturday night.
Police wish to thank those who have already come forward with information.
