A magnitude-3.6 earthquake has rattled Christchurch tonight.
The quake struck at 9.30pm, 10 kilometres southeast of the city, at a depth of 8km.
A ‘‘sharp jolt’’ was felt as widely as Greenpark and Kaiapoi and had generated more than 350 "felt" reports on the GeoNet website within 10 minutes of the event.
