4.1 earthquake shakes Bay of Plenty

A magnitude 4.1 earthquake has given Bay of Plenty a shake tonight, GNS Science says.

The earthquake, which struck at 10.48pm, was centred 15 kilometres southwest of Te Kaha and had a focal depth of 42km.

Reports to GNS Science’s GeoNet website show the earthquake was felt lightly to moderately throughout Bay of Plenty.
