The trial of a man accused of stabbing Stokes Valley father of two Aaron Hadfield has been aborted.

Justice Ron Young dismissed the jury this morning after a member realised they knew information about the case that would have disqualified them from serving.

Shayd Robinson, 20, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Hadfield by stabbing him in the chest on January 26 this year.

The court had heard two days of evidence including how Robinson allegedly licked the blade of the knife after stabbing Hadfield during a road rage incident and telling him "I like the taste of your blood.''

The jury had already been down to 11 after one juror had to leave the first day and losing another would have brought the jury down to 10, which Justice Young said would have been unfortunate.

Robinson was remanded in custody for another trial date to be set.
