Man heard yelling after aggressive wasp swarm
Emergency services have attempted to find a man who was heard yelling for help after a possible wasp attack in Wainuiomata, north of Wellington.
The man was heard yelling for help near Parenga St before 11.30am.
Wellington Free Ambulance operations team manager Mike Sunderland said the service was called to the scene after a person heard a man on a neighbouring property yelling for help.
There was a swarm of bees or wasps in the area at the time.
He said there was no sign of the man and everything had been done to track him down.
Emergency services were now standing down.
A police communications spokesman said it was unknown how many times the man had been stung, but "it can be serious for some people".
Ambulance, police and Fire Service staff had been looking for the man in the suburban area of Wainuiomata, which borders rural land.
