Five workers feared missing in an underground Auckland tunnel have been found.
Police said the men, working beneath Nuffield St in Newmarket, had failed to make contact with their supervisor above ground.
It is understood there had been no word from the men in more than two hours.
Police confirmed the men were found safe and well just before 11pm and were taking a lift to the surface.
"There was just a communication breakdown, which led to the alarm."
Fire crews were on scene and police had closed Nuffield St.
