A box containing hundreds of slides has been discovered by a Timaru woman when she was preparing to move house.
Jo Simpson was clearing out one of her sheds, after 13 years of living at the same property, when she came across an unfamiliar box, about twice the size of a shoe box, containing the slides.
She thinks she may have accidentally ended up with the box after organising fundraising events for Beaconsfield and Craighead schools over the years.
"I suspect someone accidentally dropped it off with other boxes for an event."
She said the slides she looked at seemed to be of family holidays around New Zealand, artwork and a wedding all from the 1960s. They are all well labelled. "These are somebody's memories, somebody's history."
If you own these slides or know who does, please phone The Timaru Herald on (03) 687 1350.
