He's credited with killing the planking trend, now Prime Minister John Key may have singlehandedly put people off replicating the Gangnam Style dance.
The vigorous horse-riding dance went viral after featuring in the music video for South Korean popstar PSY's song, Gangnam Style, earlier this year.
Gangnam Style was the most-liked video in YouTube's history after the dance was replicated by stars and ordinary people worldwide - including NZ Labour MP Andrew Little, who danced in the House of Representatives last week.
Key was feeling the festive spirit when he performed the dance in The Edge radio station's studio on Tuesday, along with a few of his own moves.
Explaining his unique take on the dance, Key quipped: ''We're not Korean, that's the problem''.
The dance was a special Christmas treat for the station's listeners and online viewers.
Key has previously warbled his way through Santa Claus is Coming to Town on the same station.*
