Donations are flooding in for the two young girls who survived a horrific car crash that killed their mother in Waimauku last week.

The girls were taken to hospital after the car they were in crashed into another vehicle on Muriwai Rd, Waimauku on December 21.

The girls' mother died at the scene.

Almost $10,000 has been raised for Caitlin, 5, and Brooke, 7, through the Telecom Foundation's Give a Little website.

An original target of $5000 was made to get the injured girls back on their feet, but public generosity saw that target met within days.

The website moderator is now looking to set the girls up for the future.

"She [Rebecca Todd] was an amazing mum who touched many people's lives. We want to give her family a helping hand by raising as much as we can. Every dollar goes direct to the family to help grow up with the support Becs would have wanted.

"While your generosity has seen the initial "goal" achieved we are looking to raise as much as we can to help set them up for the future."

The two girls remain in Starship Children's Hospital in stable conditions.
