Police have found the body of 27-year-old Feilding man Jarrett Simeon, who went missing while swimming at Himatangi Beach yesterday afternoon.
His body was found at 5.50am this morning about 100m up from the Himatangi Surf Life Saving Club.
Simeon was swimming with his partner and friends when he got out of his depth and drifted away from the group.
“I would like to thank everyone that has helped in the search for Jarrett. Police extend their thoughts and condolences to Jarrett’s family and friends at this difficult time,” police search coordinator Sergeant Andy Brooke said.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
