A Rakaia farmer and father-of-three has died after a quad bike accident on his farm at the weekend.
Andrew Hamish Baxter, 45, died from his injuries after the incident at his farm in Gardiners Rd.
Emergency services were called to the farm about 11.25pm on Saturday.
Inspector Al Stewart said the farmer had gone out to check his irrigation system. Baxter was found off his quad bike on the side of the road about 10 minutes after he was last seen.
Stewart said he was not wearing a helmet.
Baxter, director of A H Baxter Ltd, is survived by his wife and three children.
The family declined to comment.
