The body of a young man has been found floating in Auckland Harbour.
A police spokeswoman said the man, who has not been identified, was found floating near the Auckland Harbour Bridge at 10.50am on Saturday by a group of wake boarders who retrieved the body and called the Coastguard.
The spokeswoman said the tide was going out at the time so it was likely the man's body had floated from the inner harbour area to where it was found.
Sea conditions were calm and it was unlikely the man had been in the water for more than a few hours.
Officers are appealing for members of the public to come forward with information about who the young man - thought to be in his 20s - could be.
He is described as being Asian, of thin build and was wearing an Adidas t-shirt with a large red, yellow and green logo on the front. He was also wearing a single chain necklace which had a ring attached to it.
No one fitting his description has been reported missing.
