A woman's body has been found at Waihi Beach this afternoon but police say the find is not linked to the search for a boatie who is the subject of an search after going missing last night.
Emergency services were called to Anzac Bay, Waihi Beach, shortly after 2pm after reports of a woman's body being found on the beach by a member of the public.
Ambulance staff attended the scene but the woman, believed to be aged about 77-years-old, was unable to be revived.
Police are currently not treating the death as suspicious and the matter has been reported to the Coroner.
Meanwhile the search for a man 52-year-old man who went missing after a boat he was in capsized in Tauranga Harbour.
The Katikati man's 6 metre boat capsized after crossing the bar between Bowentown and Matakana Island about 5.30pm.
The man's youngest child, aged 7, was wearing a lifejacket while his two other children aged 23 and 15 were not. A family friend aged 14 was also not wearing a life jacket.
