A magnitude 4.5 earthquake was felt near Palmerston North this afternoon.
GeoNet reported the quake hitting just before 3pm, at a depth of 67km, 5km south of Hunterville.
The quake was widely felt, with 227 people across the Manawatu-Whanganui area reporting they it affected them by 4.30pm.
