Two South Island motorcyclists have been airlifted to hospital after separate collisions with cars this afternoon.
In Canterbury, a motorcyclist was flown to hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a car between Lincoln and Prebbleton about 4pm.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter took the rider to Christchurch Hospital with serious leg and arm injuries after the crash on Birchs Rd.
The occupants of the car were taken to hospital by ambulance with minor to moderate injuries.
Earlier in the day, a 27-year-old Hokitika man was also airlifted to Christchurch Hospital after colliding with a vehicle in the Rakaia Gorge.
The man suffered severe injuries to both arms in the crash, which happened about 2.30pm.
