Police are concerned about a 20-year-old Canadian man backpacking around New Zealand, who has not been heard from for 2½ weeks.
Pearce Martin was last known to be in Waitangi between February 3 and 8 when he attended Waitangi Day celebrations, police said.
Before then he had been backpacking around the country, camping and staying in hostels.
He had been in regular contact with friends and family through Facebook and emails, but had not made contact since February 8.
"There is no clue as to where Mr Martin travelled to after Waitangi and his lack of contact with family is of concern," police national headquarters missing persons unit manager Senior Sergeant Linda Simpson said.
Anyone who recognised Martin from the photo or had information about his whereabouts or activities could contact any police station and quote file reference number 130223/3877, or email email@example.com.
