A pod of more than 100 dolphins was spotted in Wellington Harbour yesterday afternoon.
Martin Bosleys Restaurant tweeted: "Huge pod of dolphins right in front of the restaurant, right now heading towards the city!!"
The dolphins, believed to be bottlenose, have been seen swimming off Oriental Bay.
The pod is so large office workers in high rises overlooking the harbour have been able to watch their movement.
Stacey Wood wrote on Twitter her "entire floor has stopped working to stare".
