Fire crews are using a helicopter with monsoon buckets to try to bring a scrub fire near Kawhia Harbour under control.
A fire service spokesman said the fire was burning through three acres of dense scrub near Okapu Marae.
Crews and the helicopter were working to contain it.
The fire has already destroyed one caravan, but wasn't threatening anything else.
