Man's leg run over, pierced by tractor
A man is being airlifted to Christchurch Hospital after being run over by a tractor in Dunsandel, Mid Canterbury, this morning.
A St John spokesperson said they were called to to the scene in Dunsandel-Brookside Rd at 10.40am.
He said a 35-year-old man had had his leg run over by a tractor, and a fork from one of the wheels was stuck in it.
Ambulance staff were treating it as a "serious leg condition".
The man was treated at the scene and the Westpac rescue helicopter was called to take him to hospital.
Police were also at the scene.
It was not yet known how the accident occurred.
