Axe-wielding clown threatens to kill Dunedin teen
A Dunedin teenager was "freaked out" after four clowns stood outside her home and threatened to kill her.
Dunedin police were called to a report of axe-wielding clowns outside a Brockville home about 4pm on October 11.
Cee-Jay Higgan, 16, told the Otago Daily Times she had just returned home from school when she heard banging on her door.
"I started getting a bit freaked out," she told the paper.

She then saw "a clown at the [front] door holding an axe".
She locked all the doors, but the clown reappeared 20 minutes later with three others dressed in clown masks.
"They said: 'I'm going to kill you'," Cee-Jay told the ODT.
One of the clowns held a knife, while the other held an axe, she said.
The four later ran off, with police called to the scene.
A police spokeswoman told the ODT that officers were unable to find any of those involved.
On Sunday, police were called to Dunedin's student quarter following reports of a pair of clowns wielding weapons.
A 22-year-old was given a pre-charge warning.
