A search has found no trace of car which drove off an Auckland wharf this evening.
At least one person and possibly more were believed to be in the vehicle, police said.
Emergency services were told about the incident at 8.30pm tonight.
Ambulance staff and the Westpac Rescue helicopter went to the scene, but no trace of the car could be found.
The Tamaki River was about three metres deep where the car was believed to have gone in.
The police dive squad would start a search in the morning, police said.
