Police are searching for an 8-year-old boy who ran away from his South Auckland home on Saturday.
Makai Keegan left his home in the suburb of Manurewa and police believe he is avoiding being found.
Makai was thought to be using public transport daily to travel between Manurewa and central Auckland.
Police said he might be visiting shopping areas and malls, with other children.
Senior Sergeant Sundip Patel asked people using public transport between Manurewa and the Auckland CBD to keep an eye out for Makai and to report any sightings to police.
Manurewa and Clendon residents were also being asked to keep a lookout for the boy.
"We are also asking that anyone who has seen or heard from Makai since he ran away to come forward to help us find him," Patel said.
"We need to ensure his safety and reassure his family and others who are worried about him."
