Retro McDonald's playground pieces up for grabs
Kiwi kids of the 80s can take a trip back down memory lane by snapping up a retro McDonald's playground unit up for auction.
However rough and rusted around the outside, the sets are advertised on TradeMe as, "retro, collectible and rare."
There is a Hamburglar dual swing set, a Mayor McCheese roundabout and a Chief Big Mac climber jail up for grabs.
The auction, listed by a Nelson-based user, has been viewed more than 1000 times and will close on Sunday afternoon.
Trade Me's spokesman Logan Mudge said the auction is definitely a one-off.
"It's a bit different, but it's really cool to see these retro and nostalgia items come up, given the amount of Kiwi kids who have enjoyed them over the past.
"Hopefully the seller finds a buyer who, first of all, has room for these items, and who can actually educate their kids about what they are, because you don't see them around much anymore."
A breakdown of the McDonald's characters of old, including crowd favourite Grimace the purple triangle, can be found on the "retrojunk" website.
