The body of a woman has been found off the coast of Raglan in the early hours of this morning.
Police said the 19-year-old was found by a coastguard vessel in the sea about 1.20am
Her family had reported her missing five hours earlier, and had grave concerns for the woman's welfare.
The call sparked a search and rescue operation involving the coastguard, a search and rescue dog, and a police helicopter.
Police said the woman's motorcycle was first found abandoned at Manu Bay near Raglan and that's when the search for her ramped up. Police were not treating the death as suspicious.
