Cyclist freed from under truck
A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being freed from under a truck and trailer unit in Sockburn this morning.
The two collided at the corner of Curletts and Blenheim roads, near the Z service station, about 7.30am.
A St John spokesman said the cyclist was assessed at the scene and was then taken to Christchurch Hospital with "moderate to serious" injuries.
The man, in his 30s, had been "trapped under an 18-wheeler".
He was freed by the Fire Service, which attended with two fire appliances and cutting equipment. Police also attended.
A police spokesman said the road was not blocked as it "appeared to be in a driveway".
