Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl in west Auckland.
Emergency services were called to a home in Ranui where the girl had died on Thursday evening.
Waitakere police said in a statement today the child's death was unexplained.
An autopsy has been done and investigations are ongoing.
"As is the standard practice in an investigation of this nature, police are speaking with the child's family," the statement said.
Officers declined to provide any further information.
