Knife-wielding Somerfield Dairy robber sought by police
A man brandishing a knife has robbed a Christchurch dairy, police say.
Police were called to the Somerfield Dairy, on the corner of Somerfield and Barrington streets, about 7pm, Saturday.
The offender, described as a young, thin man, entered the store and demanded cash from the shop attendant.
"The shop attendant handed over a small amount of cash and the man left without further incident," Detective Sergeant Mike Freeman said.
No-one was injured in the robbery.
The man was about 1.75 metres tall and wore light blue jeans, light coloured shoes, a dark top and a black balaclava, Freeman said.
A scene examination was completed.
