One dead after campervan, car crash in Southland
One person has died and several others are injured after a campervan and car collided in Southland.
The victim died at the scene and a rescue helicopter flew another person, who was in a serious condition, to Dunedin Hospital, a St John spokesman said. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
An ambulance took a third person with moderate injuries to Invercargill Hospital.
A police spokesman said officers were alerted to the crash, on the corner of Andrews Rd and Old Coach Rd in Pukerau, near Gore, at 4.30pm on Friday.
Old Coach Rd was closed from Clinton-Mataura Rd.
The police's Serious Crash Unit went at the scene.
