A second body has been found after a boating accident in Kaikoura yesterday.

Auguste Robin Reinke's body was recovered this morning in Whalers Bay.

Reinke, 79, was checking crayfish pots yesterday with Ronald Clarence Monk, 75.

Police said the pair set out about 7am in their 5-metre boat, which was found partly submerged soon after 8am.

Monk's body was found yesterday, and searchers returned today to continue looking for Reinke.

His body was spotted from the air and recovered by the police dive team.

The accident has been referred to the coroner.
