The incident occurred about 3am in the Maungatapu area of Tauranga.

A 38-year-old Tokoroa man was arrested a short time later in a vehicle in Te Puke and charged with kidnap, aggravated burglary, assault with intent to injure, breach of a protection order, willful damage and driving whilst disqualified.
The victim, aged in her 30s, was treated for minor injuries while the man is due to appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow.
Police would like to hear from anyone in the local area who may have seen a vehicle with the above description.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
